The Great Stan Lee is Gone

There were two Stan’s in my life in the sixties I remember well that influenced my life the most. I recall the all-star performance of Stan Musial one of the greatest baseball players of all times because of my love for baseball. But more than that was Stan Lee because of my love for comics and the Marvel comic universe. He was more than a comic mind who put together the greatest comic publishing company of all time but Stan Lee really related to the young with his famous Stan’s…

Portland Comic Con from Wizard World

I just attended the Wizard World Portland Comic Con and was pleasantly surprised all three days were filled with enough excitement to fill the convention center. I am not sure what the final attendance numbers were but for a main event in a city the size Portland, Oregon it was very crowded. More than enough to have Wizard World to reschedule in 2014 for January 24, 25, and 26, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Wizard World has the pull to bring many of the big names in entertainment and pop culture…

Incredible Hulk 7 Review Marvel

WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD: I have been reading comics for many years and thought I had seen everything but Incredible Hulk 7 gave me quite a surprise. Writer Jason Aaron has really done something with the relationship between Bruce banner and his alter ego the Hulk that has never been done. He has killed Banner and introduced the idea that the creature instead of the man may have been the calming part of the Banner/Hulk. Well when Stan Lee and Jack Kirby introduced the character the Hulk back in 1962 Bruce…

Why Comics?

Almost every person who reads a comic has been ridiculed by insensitive people saying that you should have something better to do with the time than to read a ” funny book “. As a young person I saw nothing funny about the super hero comics I was reading. They made my imagination soar, for a few moments I could imagine what it was like to be Superman with the ability to fly and move faster than a speeding bullet. I could have power to change things in society…
