There were two Stan’s in my life in the sixties I remember well that influenced my life the most. I recall the all-star performance of Stan Musial one of the greatest baseball players of all times because of my love for baseball. But more than that was Stan Lee because of my love for comics and the Marvel comic universe.
He was more than a comic mind who put together the greatest comic publishing company of all time but Stan Lee really related to the young with his famous Stan’s Soap Box. Letter writing to Marvel was a treat because you felt like he was talking to you through the responses. He really related to the young of that time and created a theme of comic producing that has lasted to today.
Even after his years of producing comics he remained an ambassador of common sense in the comic world and brought his larger than life personality to comic conventions. And who can relate to the Marvel movies without seeing his cameo appearance? He influences everyone in the entertainment business and is praised by all as an icon in the comic and entertainment world.
Rest in peace Stan and enjoy your reunion with Steve Ditko and Jack Kirby. If heaven has a publishing company maybe the three of you can help out in art and imagination. STAN LEE: EXCELSIOR!
Marvel Comics and The Walt Disney Company salute the life and career of Stan Lee and offer our undying gratitude for his unmatchable accomplishments within our halls. Please join us in remembering Stan “The Man” Lee.
