Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Performance

Guardians 3 is a decent movie that rounds out a successful run by James Gunn with Marvel before he attacks his new job with Peter Safran as Co-Chairmen and CEOs of DC Studios. I agreed with critic Matt Hudson when he said in his review of the movie: It isn’t top-tier Marvel, but it’s damn solid with some great gags and action throughout. Compared to recent MCU releases, however, it’s a rousing success. Matt was referring to the lackluster quality and box office performance in the release in Marvel movies…

‘VENOM’ 2 BOX OFFICE

The Venom 2 box office has crushed all estimates and again proven that people are not afraid of going to movie theaters, just as I have said all along. Sony estimated Venom 2 at a low $40k for the weekend while industry estimates offered $60k+, but following the Thursday preview night, I said Venom 2 was looking to be on track for $86 million, which wasn’t too far off. It’s reported that Venom 2 brought in $90.1 million for its opening box office weekend, which crushes those estimates. It’s also…

Superman and Lois Premier Against Spider-Man Reveal

The Superman and Lois Premier was well received with viewers last night hitting over 70k tweets on Twitter if that means anything. Amazingly that was contrasted by the release of the new title of Spider-Man 3 on the same day which was trending with Marvel’s “big” reveal of “No Way Home,” which is trending with 50k tweets, also on Twitter. I am glad to see the friendly competition between companies and want to share how Jim Lee responded to the premiere of the Superman show and the competition with Spider-Man.…

WandaVision on Disney by Marvel is Here

Last Friday WandaVision aired on the streaming Disney channel. I was amazed at how much they were able to mimic the early T.V. shows like “I Love Lucy”, the “Dick Van Dyke Show” and “Bewitched” with Elizbeth Montgomery. Two episodes are all that was released and they raise more questions than answers about where the story is going. Spoilers Ahead: Wanda has conjured a world where Vision is very much alive and her husband in a suburban neighborhood of the early sixties. Crazy things happen and everyone acts like it…
