With its fifth annual event coming in late October, Stan Lee’s Comikaze Expo has been renamed as Stan Lee’s L.A. Comic Con.

Originally launched as Comikaze Expo in 2011, the event was re-branded in 2012 as Stan Lee’s Comikaze Expo in a deal made between Comikaze Entertainment and Lee. Since its launch, the convention has grown from an estimated 35,000 attendees to 70,000 with its last event.

The 2016 Stan Lee’s L.A. Comic Con is scheduled for October 28 – 30 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Stan Lee:

The now 93-year-old has been a big part of the convention scene for decades. Stan recently started winding down his heavy schedule of appearances. Sadly, I recently saw him at for the last time at Portland’s Rose City Comic Con and he is making his last appearance at the New York Comic Con in October. Stan “The Man” Lee in Pop Culture is a certified legend.

An icon of entertainment he was former Marvel Comics boss, and creator (or co-creator) of multiple classic characters that fans cherish to this day. Stan has earned the right to settle down on the west coast and slow his life down a little. He was a gentleman at the Rose City Comic Con, he was asked what the one thing he was most proud of in his career and he answered “That I could fill a room of admiring people like you that appreciate what I have done over the years is the most fulfilling of all.”

Lee revealed in a Radio Times interview earlier this year that his eyesight and hearing are failing, though he is otherwise in good health. May we have Stan around for many more years and thank you Stan for your contribution to geek entertainment and the comic world would not be the same without you. Excelsior Stan says it all, with that we will end with “Nuff Said”. 🙂 Walt
