If you think Stan Lee the creator/co-creator for most of Marvel’s storied and valuable properties would be excited about the movie/TV rights of almost all them being merged with Disney’s pending acquisition of 21st Century Fox … you’d be right.
“A truly great piece of news!” Marvel legend Stan Lee briefly told Newsarama Thursday afternoon. “Now characters such as the X-Men and the Fantastic Four can come home to the place where they belong. It’s vitally important to have the Marvel characters under one roof. And now, as great as they were before, I can’t wait to see the wonders that will unfold!”
Another part of the deal, Disney assumes the planned movie adaptation of Stan Lee’s life, back in late 2016, Lee sold his life rights for a highly fictionized version of himself to Fox. At the time, the plan was for the movie to be set in the 1970s and be in the style of a James Bond film. It would be great to see what Marvel Studios can do with the story about Stan Lee.
