Krypton Review S01 E01 “Pilot” #Krypton

Krypton is a new television series developed by David S. Goyer with Damian Kindler for SyFy. I first heard of David S. Goyer back in the late 90’s when he co-plotted “Starman” with James Robinson writer. I liked his work so much I continued reading the stories he wrote in JSA, but I lost track of him after that and did not realize he was the guy behind or in conjunction with several Movies and TV shows I liked. Some of his screenwriting works include the Blade trilogy, Christopher Nolan’s…

X-Men – Jean’s back (again and again?!?)

Phoenix Resurrection: The Return Jean Grey and the Jean Grey comics are a great story. I have followed the Young Jean Grey story since her first arrival in the future and have enjoyed the recent ongoing series. Her book is a wild ride across the world, where she is dealing with a renewed threat of the Phoenix Force’s imminent return. I did struggle with this a bit because a couple years back in the AVX crossover story Hope Summers eviscerated the Phoenix Force… I guess since energy cannot be destroyed…

The Storms of Crait review

Tell me if you have heard this one before… Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo and Chewy walk onto a planet… some conflict happens, Luke has a discovery, Han and Chewie are Han and Chewie, and Princess Leia saves the day. “Star Wars – The Storms of Crait” follows the Star Wars fantasy drama that we are accustomed to in from the movies. In fact, it has quite the same feel as the Brian Woods Star Wars series he wrote for Dark Horse comics as Disney and Lucas penned their…

Astonishing X-Men Act 1: Life of X Reaction

Or How Marvel Secretly Brought Professor X Back to Life… !!SPOILER ALERT!! Okay, let me say what a great way to bring a character back to life and in doing so getting rid of my least favorite X-universe character, created by Grant Morrison, Fantomex. He first appeared in New X-Men #128 published August 2002. In my mind, he has been pretty much been a throwaway rogue character. He is a little too much Gambit and not quite enough Wolverine to keep me interested. However because he is a Human, Mutant/Sentinel…

Star Trek Discovery review Episode 11

In Godfather 3 fashion I wanted to title this review “Just when I thought I was out… they pull me back in.” The difference from episode 10 to episode 11 is simply night and Day. This episode breaths life back into the whole series for me and gets me so incredibly pumped up for what is to come next. It should be noted that the show seems to have an excellent writers room and this episode is no exception. This episode was written by one the co-executive producers of the…

Star Trek Discovery Review of Episode 10

Star Trek Discovery returns with Episode 10 “Despite Yourself” which includes a reference and likeness to the prime universe Star Trek Enterprise Season 04 Episodes 18 & 19 · In a “Mirror, Darkly” part 1 and 2. In this story, the Enterprise as a Terrain Empire ship Lead by a power-hungry Archer searches for the U.S.S Defiant constitution class starship that has crossed over to this alternate universe. This is the same universe we see in “Mirror, Mirror” (Star Trek S02 E04 Oct. 6, 1967). The “Mirror, Darkly” story…

The Once and Future Captain America: A Secret Empire Hypothesis

Let’s talk about the elephant in the room first. In Marvel’s House of Ideas anything goes these days our good guys act like bad guys and our bad guys are now good guys. Sure, it can be an interesting plot device to make what we consider good and virtuous, evil and rank, because it humanizes our heroes. Deep down inside all of us, although we want the good guys to be moral and virtuous, we also sadistically want to see them fall. Personally, I don’t like this kind of story.…

Five Star review for All Star Batman

Scott Snyder pulls out all the stops in his new Batman book, All Star Batman. I am an enthusiastic fan of Scott Snyder (Batman, Witches) and Greg Capullo’s (Spawn, Batman) as a creative team. Their 4 year run of the Batman title is some of the best story telling I have ever read. Unlike most of the new 52 characters at DC Batman did not change much after Flashpoint. Scott continued to build on an already rich Batman mythos giving us the court owls, death of the family, year zero,…

New Avengers: Age Of Ultron Extended TV Spot Hits You Tube

Enjoy pure Avenger battle fun… Freaking amazing shot of the team at 0:23 seconds diving into battle.  This Trailer definitely puts for the supposition that Hawkeye is the one who is recruiting Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch Can’t wait to see how this ties into the Inhumans story in Agents of Shield.  For those of you out there not reading Marvel comics right now Marvel has decided Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are not the offspring of Magneto, but actually Inhumans.
