Krypton Review S01 E01 “Pilot” #Krypton

Krypton is a new television series developed by David S. Goyer with Damian Kindler for SyFy. I first heard of David S. Goyer back in the late 90’s when he co-plotted “Starman” with James Robinson writer. I liked his work so much I continued reading the stories he wrote in JSA, but I lost track of him after that and did not realize he was the guy behind or in conjunction with several Movies and TV shows I liked. Some of his screenwriting works include the Blade trilogy, Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy, Dark City, Man of Steel, and the ever controversial Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Krypton is definitely not BvS but this show does seem to harken back to the beginning of “Man of Steel,” and the partnership between Warner and SyFy has done a good job getting the CG and special effects right, but the most important thing I like in the show is the story. It has everything a good pilot should have, mystery, major loss, love triangle, political intrigue, good villains, and a likable lead. I am excited to see where David S. Goyer and the rest of the show creators take this tale.

Ever the fanboy,
Travis
