2008 Comics Review

I did not think that the Marvel comic world could top 2007 in shaking things up with Civil War, World War Hulk, One More Day Spider-Man, and of course the death of an Icon: Captain America but they did a fair Job with A Brand New Day story line with Spider-Man without Mary Jane in his life. Plus the restart of the series with Thor and Asgard written by J. Michael Straczynski an outstanding writer. The Dark Knight

On July 18 comes the second installment of the movie do over of Batman “The Dark Knight” it features Heath Ledger as the Joker in this Christopher Nolan directed film. Very well promoted film it is set to make well over 100 million in tickets the first weekend already a sellout in many theaters. I will see this film and comment on it’s content later but I wanted to say that I can already see the influence of the comic version of this Icon in American life in the film.…

Secret Invasion #2 slows the story down a little to tell about a battle between an older (classic) version of Avengers or Heroes against the later Avengers of today in the Savage Land T-Rex and all. It leaves you wondering who is the Scrull and who is the real hero. Will the real Spider-Man please stand up.
