Neil Gaiman’s Death in Action Comics?

The October issue of Action Comics 894 will feature a character ripped from the pages of Neil Gaiman’s 1990′s cult favorite The Sandman. For those unfamiliar with the character at the center of the cover – and shame on you if you don’t know who that is – that’s Death, sister to Dream of the Endless and one of the most enduring characters introduced during Gaiman’s 75-issue SANDMAN series. Beautifully presented by ACTION COMICS cover artist David Finch, the cover begs the question – what is Death doing in ACTION…’Read

Infinity Gauntlet From Thor

More details about Marvel’s Thor emerged at Comic-Con International with the unveiling of the Infinity Gauntlet, the glove crafted in the comics by Thanos to harness the power of the Infinity Gems. Just how the Gauntlet and the sentient Gems — and, perhaps, the Mad Titan himself — fit into the film remains to be seen. Created by Jim Starlin, Thanos is a Death-obsessed Eternal bent on genocide and galactic conquest. The Infinity Gems — initially called the Soul Gems — are six immensely powerful stones, each granting its bearer…’Read

Green Lantern Movie (2011)

I know I have commented more on movies than comics here lately but with the comic heroes I enjoy are coming to the big screen very soon to a theater near you. This one is Green Lantern’s premiere character Hal Jordan, played by Ryan Reynolds, that’s right the one who played Deadpool in the Marvel blockbuster X–Men Origins: Wolverine. But now he is dressed in green and wears the ring of power that’s only limitation is his imagination and will power. The age of movies we live is great for realistic renditions…’Read

The All Star Superman Movie

Superman is probably the most notable hero and best know character of comic folklore. With all his changes from the debut in Action Comics #1 in 1939 he still remains the number one personification of a Super Hero. Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive,  able to leap the tallest building in a single bound, he remains the hero for truth,  justice, and the American way. While the American way may have changed over the years the expectation of Superman to somehow save the day by doing…’Read

Dark Horse Goes Classic

Recently during Comic Con, Dark Horse president, Mike Richardson called a surprise guest to announce Dark Horse’s plans to develop new comics and graphic novels for the Gold Key Comics’ superheroes. Siege is a turning point in Marvel and the end of the many Avenger titles to one as it should be. Sentry began as a forgotten hero of yesterday and ended as a threat to mankind and a mentally deranged psychopath. The Sentry (Robert “Bob”…’Read
