Is Comic Creativity In A Funk?

I just read an article about comic creativity from Mark Millar on the current state of comics and why he left the big two Marvel and DC. He was very negative about the Big Event comics and why Marvel and DC do them. The Article is found on Comic Book News if you would like to read it. I must say that I understand why he may criticize the big guys, Millar is currently doing only his creator owned comics, having recently announced he will no longer be doing work…

Comicbookresources.com (CBR) has released what the DC Universe will look like after Flashpoint. It is very interesting”: In the wake of its summer “Flashpoint” event, DC Comics will re-number its entire superhero line, debuting more than 50 first issues in September while introducing “a more modern, diverse DC Universe.” The sweeping line-wide change debuts on Aug. 31, when the publisher releases just two comics — the final issue of “Flashpoint,” and the first issue of “Justice League,” under the new creative team of Geoff Johns and Jim Lee. FlashPoint: What’s Happening to the DC Universe?

Wow, have we all become numb to the changes in the DCU in the past. Los Angeles Times ran a poll asking readers whether the new version was a good representation of the Amazon princess character or more akin to a…
