Dark Knights: Death Metal Must Read

In 2017 I read a mind-blowing story by comic creators Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo called Dark Nights: Metal. It was massive in scale and involved the multiverse in its entirety and shook up the foundation of the DC Comic Multiverse. The series and Metal crossovers involve Batman discovering a dark multiverse that exists beneath the core DC multiverse. It is revealed that both multiverses are connected through mysterious metals that Batman has encountered over the years. His investigations eventually result in him releasing seven evil versions of himself from…

Michael Keaton ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’

Variety caught up with Michael Keaton, who plays the villain The Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming. But apparently he’s not all bad, as Keaton alluded to in this new interview. Keaton also revealed that Marvel shifted their schedule to accommodate him, as he originally had to turn the role down over conflicts. Here are some excerpts: I do think though, in all your roles, you bring an inherent likability, whether you want to or not. It’s been a while since you played a truly villainous role. Yeah, Vulture, recently. But not…

Appearing at Comic-Con International in San Diego, CBR had the opportunity to speak with “Captain America: Sam Wilson” and “Captain America: Steve Rogers” writer Nick Spencer about the reaction of his controversial run on the titles — where Steve Rogers was recently revealed as a secret Hydra operative due to a Cosmic Cube-induced twist — and what’s in store for his “Civil War II” tie-ins and beyond. Speaking with CBR’s Kiel Phegley, Spencer discussed the surprisingly kind response he got from fans at the convention — after receiving death threats…

After years and years of development, abandoned film scripts and more than a few canceled ongoing comic series, the long-awaited moment has arrived: “Runaways” is making a major comeback in the form of a television series. A live-action adaptation of the fan-favorite/bordering-on-iconic Marvel comic just got ordered to series by Hulu, where it will become the latest in a long line of streaming Marvel Television series. Of course “Runaways” marks a change in how Marvel Television has previously operated; instead of arriving on Netflix like “Daredevil,” “Jessica Jones” and “Luke…

The man who writes Spider-Man talks Marvel’s Cinematic Universe

A chat with comics writer Dan Slott about Spider-Man from the Verge: What were your thoughts around Spider-Man finally coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe?: I was completely side-swiped. I didn’t see it coming at all. I had so long been told about the politics of it, and had been told by the powers that be that it was never, ever, ever going to happen. So, I was gobsmacked. You write Spider-Man right now, but you’ve also written The Avengers in comic form. Especially since there can’t exactly be a…

Fantastic Four Reboot to Shoot in Louisiana

According to The Wrap, production on Josh Trank’s upcoming Fantastic Four reboot will roll cameras in Louisiana instead of the previously-rumored Vancouver. Production is slated to begin sometime this September. This marks the first Marvel-based Fox film to shoot in Louisiana, after many of the studio’s superhero movies — such as “X-Men” and the upcoming “X-Men: Days of Future Past” — were shot in Canada. For those unfamiliar with the characters, Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm were normal people traveling in space on a scientific mission…
