Kevin Feige Comments On Wonder Woman & DC vs. Marvel

Chris Pine recently started the DC vs. Marvel argument anew with his comments on Avengers: Infinity War. However, Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige doesn’t think the two studios are at war and is actually a fan of the DC films. Feige tells Allocine: I but a ticket, and I watch the movie. “There is not really a rivalry. The rivalry is much more among the press, I think. Geoff Johns is a very good friend of mine. We grew up together in the business and recently celebrated Richard…

Samaritan: Veritas #1 Review

Samaritan: Veritas #1 Publisher: Image Writer: Matt Hawkins Art: Atilio Rojo This past week Image dropped Samaritan: Veritas #1, the beginning of a new chapter in scribe Matt Hawkins’ "Edenverse,” and while there are more downs than ups it is certainly an ambitious comic. And while, unfortunately, Samaritan ultimately falters under the weight of its formulaic plot and blasé characters it still manages to offer fun for fans of revenge and redemption stories. PLOT Samantha Copeland is out for blood and seeking vengeance. It seems the current POTUS killed the…

The Once and Future Captain America: A Secret Empire Hypothesis

Let’s talk about the elephant in the room first. In Marvel’s House of Ideas anything goes these days our good guys act like bad guys and our bad guys are now good guys. Sure, it can be an interesting plot device to make what we consider good and virtuous, evil and rank, because it humanizes our heroes. Deep down inside all of us, although we want the good guys to be moral and virtuous, we also sadistically want to see them fall. Personally, I don’t like this kind of story.…

Silver Surfer Gets Cancelled

The solicit for Silver Surfer #14 reads: “Please join us for one final trip around the universe.” April’s issue of Silver Surfer #10 is estimated to have sold around 15K, which means the title has been long overdue to get cancelled. A few years ago when Joe Quesada was in charge, titles around the 20-21K mark would get the axe on a regular basis. Regarding Slott and Allred’s Silver Surfer, I wasn’t a fan at all. I prefer my Marvel COSMIC to have serious writing and photorealistic art (similar to…

The Future Of Spider-Man At Sony

Tom Hardy has signed on to star as Venom/Brock, with established Spider-Man producers Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach on board alongside Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer. October 5, 2018, has been earmarked as a release date, so Sony is going to have to get a move on. Put that with the news that a film starring two other Spider-Man allies/antagonists – Black Cat and Silver Sable – was also in development, it raises a lot of questions how you would make movies about Spider-Man characters without the main man himself Spider-Man.…
