On Wednesday night, DC Entertainment President & Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige came together to honor the man that mentored them both, Superman: The Movie director Richard Donner.
Donner was honored by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences in a special ceremony that brought Feige and Johns – both former interns under Donner – together with numerous other Hollywood luminaries to pay tribute to the 87-year-old filmmaker.
Donner is known for directing Superman: The Movie, Superman II, The Goonies, the Lethal Weapon films, and more. He also co-wrote an arc of Action Comics alongside Johns.
Johns and Feige, longtime friends, posed together for a photo at the event, giving fans something of a meta-DC/Marvel movie crossover.
