Reflecting on bringing his talents to Marvel, Kuder exclaimed “I’m completely stoked to be working at the House of Ideas again. Doctor Strange #10 Review

Marvel: August 3, 2016 Writer: Jason Aaron Art: Chris Bachalo Cover: Kevin Nowlan Cover Price: $3.99 Eric Bradach’s The Comixalaxy The Marvel business model at the moment is obsessed with re-launches and the fixation on releasing new #1’s on the racks to boost sales. Every time DC seems to be edging them out on the top 10 charts, they react with an event with an endless amount of tie-ins, and readers are understandably becoming tired and frustrated of the current climate. With each event there is the promise of a…

Marvel’s Latest “Dead No More” Update

Marvel’s latest promotion for upcoming Spider-Man story “Dead No More” comes in the form of an animated gif, one that warns that everything that’s been said up to this point about the arc may have been one big misdirect. Following a gradually accelerating series of related panels, the text “Everything you’ve been told is wrong” is revealed, along with the words “The conspiracy revealed this week.” Notably, the font in the word “conspiracy” strongly resembles that of the “Spider-Man” logo used for much of the 1990s: The “Dead No More”…

Netflix Defenders Lineup Marvel Trailers

When Marvel announced in 2013 that Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist would get their own TV shows on Netflix, it was also revealed that the heroes would eventually team up in a Defenders miniseries. To the causal Marvel fan, the chance of seeing a superhero team besides the Avengers is exciting, but hardcore comic book fans know that the MCU’s Defenders are different than the earlier iterations from the comics. However, using street-level heroes rather than the original set of members makes sense in terms of how…

Marvel Civil War II #3 Review

I loved Mark Millar’s Civil War series in 2006–2007 with art by Steven McNiven. It had everything you would want in a cross over superhero comic extravaganza. Civil War follows the implementation and consequences of the Superhuman Registration Act, a legislative bill that requires the mandatory registration of any person based in the United States with super powers. The act arose due to public pressure for accountability following a series of superhuman-related events causing significant damage and death within the Marvel universe. Tony Stark, the superhero Iron Man, who had…

The title of the poster is “Nighthawk v Hyperion: Yawn of Boredom”, with promotional text stating, “You won’t believe their mothers share a first name”. Deadpool and Spider-Man, exiting the theater, discuss the film, with Deadpool stating, “None of that made sense.…
