Silver Surfer Gets Cancelled

The solicit for Silver Surfer #14 reads: “Please join us for one final trip around the universe.” April’s issue of Silver Surfer #10 is estimated to have sold around 15K, which means the title has been long overdue to get cancelled. A few years ago when Joe Quesada was in charge, titles around the 20-21K mark would get the axe on a regular basis. Regarding Slott and Allred’s Silver Surfer, I wasn’t a fan at all. I prefer my Marvel COSMIC to have serious writing and photorealistic art (similar to…’Read

The Future Of Spider-Man At Sony

Tom Hardy has signed on to star as Venom/Brock, with established Spider-Man producers Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach on board alongside Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer. October 5, 2018, has been earmarked as a release date, so Sony is going to have to get a move on. Put that with the news that a film starring two other Spider-Man allies/antagonists – Black Cat and Silver Sable – was also in development, it raises a lot of questions how you would make movies about Spider-Man characters without the main man himself Spider-Man.…’Read

Spider-Men Comic Coming Again

“In 2012, the Ultimate Universe and Marveliverse collided with the meeting of Miles Morales and Peter Parker in “Spider-Men,” written by Brian Michael Bendis with art by Sara Pichelli. The series left off just as Peter Parker began researching Miles Morales online in the 616. Today, via his personal Twitter account, Bendis confirmed that a “Spider-Men 2” is planned, answering the question “Are we going to see a spidermen 2 series?” with “Yes.” “While Bendis didn’t specify when or how a follow-up series would take place, a “Spider-Men 2” isn’t…’Read

Captain America Becomes Captain Hydra Secret Empire #10

Marvel has announced today that Secret Empire is getting an extra issue this August and the cover for the comic book features a startling new look for Steve Rogers as he suits up as…Captain Hydra? Secret Empire was originally solicited for nine issues, but as has so often become the case with Marvel’s event comics, an extra installment has now been added. The cover by Mark Brooks is particularly interesting as it featured a “Classified” logo of some sort which seemingly gives away what’s to come in the series along…’Read

VENOM: Tom Hardy Signs On To Play Eddie Brock In Spider-Man Spin-Off

Sony Pictures announced today that Academy Award-nominated actor Tom Hardy has signed on to play Eddie Brock in their upcoming R-rated Marvel film Venom. The high-priority project is being developed as its own standalone feature, not as a Spider-Man spin-off, as the studio attempts to launch their own extended cinematic universe that will utilize characters from their surprisingly large Marvel library. It’s still uncertain at this point in time whether his arch-rival Spider-Man, played by Tom Holland (Spider-Man: Homecoming) or by an older actor, will make any sort of appearance…’Read

SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING: First Look At Michael Chernus As The Tinkerer

Thanks to the latest issue of Empire Magazine, we have a first look at Michael Chernus (Orange is the New Black) as The Tinkerer. Described by the publication as Adrian Toomes’ sidekick, they reiterate the fact that the latter is put out of business shortly after the events of The Avengers when Damage Control arrives on the scene to take over the tech salvaging business from the debt-ridden future villain. “That puts him in a pretty desperate situation,” explains Spider-Man: Homecoming co-producer Eric Carroll. “So with one of the trucks…’Read

Will Killer Frost get a warm heart and revert back to Caitlin. Will Cisco loose his hands in a fight with Killer Frost. In my opinion “The Flash” is the best CW superhero program. It is…’Read

This page will act as a central hub…’Read

JOHNS & FRANK Reunite For DC/WATCHMEN - DOOMSDAY CLOCK

Geoff Johns’ anticipated follow-through on 2016’s DC Universe: Rebirth #1 has been revealed as a new miniseries titled Doomsday Clock. Reuniting with frequent collaborators Gary Frank and Brad Anderson, Johns is framing the title as Dr. Manhattan versus Superman and “the conflict between optimism and pessimism.” “It’s time. Last year, the DC Universe confronted the legacy of Watchmen in ‘Rebirth’ the way Watchmen confronted the legacy of superhero comics three decades ago,” said Johns. “Thematically, and metaphorically, there was no better choice than to use Dr. Manhattan. If you’re going…’Read

Wonder Woman First Reactions Call It Dark, Funny and Powerful

Finally, someone other than those pesky executives at Warner Bros. have seen Wonder Woman. And the response appears to be positive. Though, admittedly, these responses are clearly coming from some sort of Mommy blogger group and a handful of DC fan sites. And they’re not filled with the kind of enthusiasm that will have any doubters running out to theaters on opening day. Overall, they smell like ‘pat on the back’ reactions. It’s hard to tell how good the movie actually is, which seems to be par for the course…’Read

Hellboy Reboot Will Be a More Gruesome Film

As fans might expect from the planned R rating and the involvement of director Neil Marshall, the newly announced Hellboy reboot will be darker, and considerably more bloody, than the previous two films. Following the surprising (but brief) news delivered Monday by Hellboy creator Mike Mignola, co-screenwriter Andrew Cosby (Eureka) filled in a few more details about the reboot, tentatively titled Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen. “I can’t really talk about specifics with regard to the story, which they’re keeping a pretty tight lid on at the moment, but…’Read

Sony’s Venom Solo Film Gets Official Release Date

Spider-Man’s popular nemesis is finally coming to the big screen. But would Venom even be an actual spin-off, or a stand-alone film? A Venom solo movie has been a dream project of Sony’s ever since the alien-symbiote clad villain made his cinematic debut in Spider-Man 3 (2007). But the path to the silver screen hasn’t been easy. Many previous attempts in launching a Spider-Man series of spin-offs, including Venom, have failed, no thanks to Sony’s rebooting the Spider-Man franchise twice. But now, not only is the Venom movie back on…’Read

Kurt Russell Younger Didn't Use CGI for Guardians

SPOILERS: According to Kurt Russel the younger version of himself as Ego was mostly make up and not CGI. It seems amazing what they can do these days with special effects and the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 had a very life like younger version of Ego (Kurt Russell) in the earlier part of the movie. If it in fact is true that it was make up that made him younger it was an outstanding job of deception. You really thought you were looking at a younger version of…’Read
