Movie Nightmares and Scary Movies

1956

As a boy of seven I spent a sleepless night myself after watching the movie “Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956)”. Kevin McCarthy plays a small-town doctor who learns that the population of his community is being replaced by emotionless alien duplicates. McCarthy does a great job of selling the hysteria of such an alien encounter. Although by modern standards the movie is not full of shock and gore, for its time it is a great “B” movie experience. This movie is a classic in horror and Sci-Fi being remade in 1978, 1993, and 2007. It is mind bending and terrifying to think that when you sleep you will stop being your self and become an alien.

Michael Brown has created a website blog to talk about sleep and promote his mattress store. Michael Brown has also highlighted a Movie Nightmares Infographic that remembers movies that are very good at robbing sleep from those who watch them. I am featuring it on Comics Talk News Blog and asking the readers what movie cost you sleep and scared you. Please comment and let us know a memorable movie of scary stuff. Enjoy the Infographic by Micheal and visit his blog HERE. Stay tuned for more about the world of pop culture you love. 🙂 Walt

A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) scared me and made it hard to sleep. Afraid I would have to deal with Freddy in my sleep.
