Movie Nightmares and Scary Movies

As a boy of seven I spent a sleepless night myself after watching the movie “Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956)”. Kevin McCarthy plays a small-town doctor who learns that the population of his community is being replaced by emotionless alien duplicates. McCarthy does a great job of selling the hysteria of such an alien encounter. Although by modern standards the movie is not full of shock and gore, for its time it is a great “B” movie experience.
