Well times are changing and people are wondering how long the Superior Spider-Man story can go on. Doctor Octopus as Spider-Man is changing drastically the world that the real Peter Parker built. The teasers from Marvel “The End” hints at the fact that Superior Spider-Man’s existence may be ending, and the teaser Rad! We learned is the start of a new series about the Silver Surfer written by Dan Slott and drawn by Mike Allred. And the 3 part story The Arms Of The Octopus written by Michael Costa has already begun with a version of Doctor Octopus coming against the Superior Spider-Man and being called the Return Of Doctor Octopus.
Every one who follows Spider-Man is wondering if there is a real chance that the real Peter Parker will make an appearance again and end the Superior Spider-Man’s hold on his life. None other than Marvel Comics Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso states that ” We planned those teasers to drive people crazy. We expected that teaser to fuel such speculation. Does it confirm people’s suspicions…or is it a crafty red herring to drive people crazy? All I can say is that this is a huge story, and it’ll have people going, “Damn you, Dan! Damn you, Marvel!”
Sounds like something as big as Amazing Spider-Man 700 the one that started all the speculation on Peter Parker coming back to his real identity. Is he really dead? Does anyone really die in comic books? Recently Dan told a story how when the group of Marvel writers and brain trust for the direction of the Marvel Universe got together they all changed titles and began writing other comic books for example Brian Michael Bendis who was wrote the Avengers for years began writing X-Men stories and Jonathan Hickman who wrote the Fantastic Four began writing the Avengers and Matt Fraction who wrote Thor and The Defenders began writing the Fantastic Four. When Dan Slott was asked to change titles he refused and went against the direction that Marvel was going and voiced his desire to stay with Spider-Man.
Has the time come for Dan Slott to end his time with the Superior Spider-Man. Major changes are coming that we know. What the changes are only a few at Marvel know. We go along for the ride and try to decide where to spend our comic book money and wonder why fictional superheros demand so much of our attention, but this is why we are here. The appreciation of the visual media called super hero comics and the creative people in the industry keep us coming back.
Whatever the answer to the questions we asked in this post we at Comics Talk will be right here to follow the continuing story of Spider-Man and the fate of the writer of Spider-Man and Comic Books Dan Slott. Come back for more and tell us what you think on this or any article. 🙂 Walt – SEE MORE ON DAN SLOTT AT – Danslott.com
