Original Story: Warner Bros. Animation’s Batman: The Killing Joke is now set to break a record with its ‘one night only’ theatrical screening set for over 1,000 North American theaters – over 300 more than originally anticipated. Fathom Events, who is facilitating the theatrical release, has noted that this is its widest rollout in company history. The animated film is based on the OGN by AlanMoore and Brian Bolland.
Batman: The Killing Joke will be screened in select theaters Monday, July 25 at 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. local time. Mark Hamill, who reprises his voice-over role as the Joker, has reorded a special introduction exclusive to the theatrical screening. Theater-goers will also see a special behind-the-scenes look at how one scene, a “song and dance number” by the Joker, was made.
Tickets for Batman: The Killing Joke’s theatrical screening can be purchased online or at participating theater box offices.
The film will be released digitally July 26, with a physical home video version coming August 2.
