Action Comics Mister Oz Identity Theory

With the story set to reveal one of the biggest mysteries of the DC Rebirth universe soon arriving, DC have revealed that Action Comics will be getting their favourite treatment for big stories: lenticular covers.

The Oz Effect, starting in September in Action Comics by Dan Jurgens and Viktor Bogdanovic, promises to reveal the identity of the mysterious Mr. Oz, who has been helping the Super-family from afar and also abducting various characters including Tim Drake and Doomsday.

However, one of these freshly revealed covers might actually have already confirmed it for us.

Beware spoilers to come.

The covers by Nick Bradshaw, show that there is a definite connection between Superman and Mr. Oz, and the second part shows just how far back that reaches too.

And it seems the theory that we wrote about here on Bleeding Cool is confirmed, as Superman’s father Jor-El appears to be being teleported away from the doom of Krypton by blue, perhaps Dr. Manhattan connected, light.

It looks pretty clear, at least to us. And wouldn’t be the first time recently DC haven’t posted fairly revealing images of their own stories, what with using the final page of this week’s Justice League #26 as the single page in a preview for the comic. Posted by Joe Glass

Mr Oz as Superman’s father Jor-El doesn’t seem right to me because he never tried to contact Kal-El and there were 2 Supermen at one time. Lots of questions. If he is Jor-El then we have only seen the Button and flashes of blue light from Watchmen.
