Man of Steel gets a new trailer in the coming days, but thanks to this week’s Entertainment Weekly and /Film, we have an inside look today!
The images are small, as they were pulled from the digital edition of the magazine, but we should be able to update with larger ones later today.
Also from the mag come a couple of tidbits – there will be no Kryptonite in the movie, for example. The producers also promise the movie will have the “wow” but also be “emotionally engaging.”
Stay tuned for more from Man of Steel, out June 14, 2013.

Also Mark Hughes in an article for Forbes has some significant revelations about the story, Superman  ‘Man Of Steel’. Warning this is a reputable articlel and may really have true storyline facts.

  •   Superman’s birth name is Kal-El, and in this film he was born “illegally” on his home world. Why? Because his was a natural birth, without genetic manipulations to dictate his role in Kryptonian society, which is mandatory on that planet
  •   There’s no Kryptonite. Fanboys are freaking out in message boards all over the ‘net right now over this one, and they need to chill a bit. First of all, just because the glowing green rocks don’t make an appearance in this movie, that doesn’t mean Kryptonite doesn’t exist — it’s just not being used this time around. Which is good, because it can be an overused plot device and removes the need to find other, more interesting ways to challenge Superman. Besides… maybe there’s no Kryptonite because that would require the planet Krypton to have already exploded, and just maybe that didn’t happen yet. What if Kal-El was sent away from Krypton to save him because of his illegal birth status, and the planet is dying but not totally gone yet? What if Krypton’s destruction comes later?
  • Clark wanders the world doing super-deeds, and reporter Lois Lane gets very interested. Part of his journey of self discovery involves traveling the world and looking for answers about his destiny, to decide what he’s meant to do with his powers. Along the way, of course, he’s going to help people using his powers, and that’s bound to attract some press attention. So Lois will start looking for this mysterious super-samaritan, and eventually she’ll find him (he’s the one in the big red cape).
  •     Superman’s iconic costume is actually underwear! Kind of. Turns out, it’s the suit that Kryptonians would wear underneath their armor — in the film’s trailer and promotional images, Zod and his comrade-in-arms Faora wear armor, and apparently the armor fits over the top of body suits like Superman’s. Superman, however, lacks armor for his suit, since he wasn’t genetically modified to serve as a warrior, and since he was shipped off to his foster family on Earth.
  • The Fortress of Solitude is apparently a Kryptonian spaceship hidden underground on Earth. Clark will eventually locate it, and this will be how he learns about his true Kryptonian origins. Why is there a Kryptonian ship buried on Earth? Who sent it? It seems Clark’s biological father, Jor-El, sent the ship for some reason, but that’s not guaranteed.
  • General Zod comes to Earth looking for Kal-El. While it’s not clear exactly what fate (if any, yet) has befallen the planet Krypton, Zod and Faora are tracking down Superman, and the fact our hero was illegally birthed on his home world might factor into Zod’s reasons for trying to track him down.
  • Superman actually negotiates with General Zod. Yes, while it’s inevitable that they’ll get down to a big, bad super-brawl, apparently at first Superman is willing to go to Zod’s spaceship and discuss terms with him. For some reason, Superman also brings Lois Lane to the ship with him, which can’t possible be a good thing for her. The negotiations obviously won’t go well, and it looks like there’s some fighting on the spaceship before the battle spreads to Earth.

Well check out the pictures (Click to Make Larger) and let me know what you think about the possible storyline and the changes in the Superman traditional history. Stay Tuned comic faithful for more. 🙂 Walt
