Thor: The Dark World Prelude Comic Book

Marvel has revealed a single page from the prelude to Thor: The Dark World but it’s full of interesting bits of information. Badoon, Troll Lords, Frost Giants and The Maruaders all sense a weakness in Asgardian rule.

The comic book is set before the events of Thor: The Dark World and after Marvel’s The Avengers and tells of unrest breaking out across the cosmos with the Asgardian Bifrost bridge destroyed after the events of the first Thor film. If you recall in The Avengers, Loki asks ‘How much dark matter did the All-Father have to conjure to get you [to Earth]?” The way the exchange unfolds, it’s implied by Loki that Odin used dark matter at great cost to himself. Interesting enough dark matter is mentioned again in previously revealed images of Malekith the Accursed and his Dark Elf followers who wield ‘dark matter’ guns. The trailer says Malekith’s people come from the darkness so dark matter may play an important role in Thor: The Dark World.

Thor is the hardest to relate to an audience at the movies but Marvel does a good job.
