Writer/producer Alex Kurtzman has inked an overall deal with CBS to develop new properties in the Star Trek universe, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Kurtzman will take the reins as showrunner of Star Trek: Discovery following the firing of former showrunners Aaron Harberts and Gretchen Berg.
