The teaser for the New Marvel series called Original Sin has revealed that Otto Octavius may still be around possibly as a lesser being still in the body of Peter Parker. The evidence is in the Spider-Man teaser for the new series. Uatu, often simply known as The Watcher is killed and the who dun it search reveals that Captain America and Spider-Man are in position of his eyes. In the picture Spider-Man he has the watchers eye and the caption says “Does Otto Octavius have enough of a hold on Spider-Man that he could have committed the deadly deed?” The implication is that Otto is still around in some form. If he is still there he may be a sharing of the mind of Spider-Man still with Peter as the dominate one. The rolls may have reversed from the time that Otto was in control for over 30 issues of Superior Spider-Man.
And in the description of the new Amazing Spider-Man #2 it says, “That thing that freaked you out last issue? There’s more on that. The return of you-know-who? There’s MUCH more on that. Action! Drama! Surprises! There’s MORE OF EVERYTHING!” Also an implication that you-know-who is Otto again is there also. If true what, if any, influence does Otto still have on Peter and is he (Peter) in full control? Did Otto simply relinquish his control after he failed at being a Superior Spider-Man and Peters Personality and memories came flooding back to gain control of his own body. With Dan Slott’s writing you have to think out of the box, anything is possible. In #30 Otto admitted his failure as a hero on page 5 preview. CLICK BELOW
Whatever is going on here it is an amazing story soon to be a classic in the minds of comic readers. How will Peter answer for what Otto has done while in control of his body. And does Peter tell anybody or should he tell anybody what he has gone through. Has anyone in Marvel ever gone through a situation like this before. I truly believe this is unrivaled in comic writing in any universe created by the comic creators mind. My conjecture is over, tell me what you think. We are here for you at Comic Talk. Stay Tuned comic faithful for more. 🙂 Walt
