No ‘Aquaman’ Trailer Yet? Director James Wan Says The Reason Why

Warner Bros’ “Ready Player One,” set to hit theaters Wednesday, superhero fans were hoping that the movie’s arrival would bring a trailer for the studio’s big Christmas release, “Aquaman.” But director James Wan says a trailer for the next DC movie isn’t coming out anytime soon, and he’s the reason why.

“…a teaser-trailer going out this weekend was never in the books, despite what some claim,” Wan tweeted late Saturday night. “It’s not because of anyone or any nefarious reason holding it back — IT’S ME.”

With the film currently in post-production, much of its visual effects shots have not been completed, and Wan doesn’t want the trailer to have clips with CGI that “might be construed as subpar.”

“I know it seems like nothing much is brewing above the surface, but I can assure you, we’re working nonstop under the waves,” Wan said. To see Tweet Click Here.

An Aquaman test screening was said to have taken place in February, and judging by what Wan says above, we can speculate the VFX wasn’t complete, but someone who saw the footage still said Aquaman was epic.

Aquaman has a December 21, 2018 release starring Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm the Ocean Master, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, with Temuera Morrison as Aquaman’s father, Thomas Curry, Nicole Kidman is playing the mother to Aquaman, Queen Atlanna, and Dolph Ludgren is King Nereus.

It’s okay, James wan. We know warner bros is trying to find ways to ruin this. It’s sad when other warner bros films (ready player one) blows it’s DC Films projects out of the water, pun intended.

  2. Wendy

James Wan has made some good movies lets hope he can make the first mostly underwater movie good for DC Films sake. Don’t reveal your chickens before they hatch.
