Marvel 616 Debuts On Disney Plus

Media News: Marvel’s 616 explores Marvel’s rich legacy of pioneering characters, creators, and storytelling to reflect the world outside your window. Each documentary, helmed by a unique filmmaker, showcases the intersections of storytelling, pop culture, and fandom within the Marvel Universe. Episodes in this anthology series will cover topics including Marvel’s world-spanning artists, the trailblazing women of Marvel Comics, discovering the “forgotten” characters of Marvel, and much more.

In April Marvel’s 616 Media News was:

MARVEL’S 616 explores the commonalities between the stories, characters, and creators of the rich Marvel universe and the world around us. Each episode will explore in detail the historical, cultural, and social context of the tales of the universe. Joe Quesada, Stephen Wacker, Shane Rahmani, John Cerilli, Harry Go, Sarah Amos, David Gelb, Brian McGinn, and Jason Sterman are the executive producers.

Looks like this series is not at first put together by Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige, but seems to have originated from Joe Quesada who is noted for being a former head editor of Marvel Comics but now is EVP Creative Director, Marvel Entertainment. He was also Executive Producer of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD & Agent Carter.

Since Kevin Feige was put in charge of the Marvel TV side along with Marvel Films it looks like Joe Quesada and Jeph Loeb will play a lesser role in the creative entertainment at Marvel in the future. Be that as it may, here are the previews of the series Coming in November!
