2022 will be a year of reveal for DC Films starting with The Batman by director Matt Reeves. It will hit the big screen on March 4, 2022, in the USA. Starring: Robert Pattinson; Zoë Kravitz; Paul Dano; Jeffrey Wright; John Turturro; Peter Sarsgaard; Andy Serkis; and Colin Farrell, the film is presented as non-origin story with an already established Batman who is early in his crimefighting career. It will be great to see the story revel by Matt Reeves.
Next will be Black Adam directed by international director Jaume Collet-Serra. Starring: Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson; Noah Centineo; Aldis Hodge; Sarah Shahi; Quintessa Swindell; Pierce Brosnan. Looks like an old world look at classic DC characters and introducing members of the Justice Society of America (JSA) including Doctor Fate and Hawkman. With the involvement of Dwayne Johnson and his production company you know it will be kick-ass. Coming to theaters on July 29, 2022, in the USA.
Then is the long-awaited movie The Flash staring Ezra Miller; Ron Livingston; Michael Keaton; Kiersey Clemons; Michael Shannon; Antje Traue; Sasha Calle; and Ben Affleck. It is directed by Andrés Muschietti an Argentine filmmaker. This film is an adaptation of the Flashpoint multiverse story which changed DC Comics in major ways. What direction they go with this film remains to be seen. The release date is November 4, 2022, in the USA.
Finally, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will be directed by James Wan and staring Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, William Dafoe, Nicole Kidman, Dolph Lundgren, Temuera Morrison, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and others. This sequel to the first block buster underwater movie is the return of Aquaman as King of Atlantis. Only synopsis given: Aquaman forges an uneasy alliance with an unlikely ally to save Atlantis and the rest of the planet. It is slated to be released December 16, 2022, in the USA.
Looks like we will be taking about the quality of DC Flim releases all year.
