Putting it as bluntly as possible, Defenders #1 is a pretty looking book. Dodson’s bold, yet exaggerated pencils fit nicely with this kind of story. His artwork may be bombastic, but his panel layouts ensure the story is easy to follow for readers. Dodson also masterfully choreographs a fight sequence taking place in zero-G space between Iron Fist and an assassin. Yes, it’s as cool as it sounds.
