We have been hearing strange things about Spider-Man 3 the movie and we wanted to confirm what we know at this point. On December 4th fans spotted a Spider-Man 3 teaser posted by Sony Channel LA which happens to tease the Spider-Verse with Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield.
It’s thought Spider-Man 3 will be a Spider-Verse Multiverse movie as Jamie Foxx is said to be back as Electro, Benedict Cumberbatch is appearing as Doctor Strange, with his sequel titled “In The Multiverse of Madness,” and rumors offer both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will be back as Spider-Man.
The video from the Latin Sony Network is translated:
It begins by asking fans who is their favorite Spider-Man: Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, or Tom Holland? Then, “You don’t have to choose,” says the video (translated). “In the Multiverse of Marvel, anything can happen.” More Translated, “In Spider-Man 3 you will quite possibly see everyone – YES – the three Peter Parker saving the world together.” The video ends with: “Find out more very soon.”
So recently Paramount Network Spain posted the following tweet that offers (translated): “Marvel gives you his Christmas gift. It is a box that, if you open it, all three appear Spider-Man of the 21st century in the same film.”
As you know Paramount is a separate company from Sony, so why would Paramount tease Spider-Man 3? Marvel’s Kevin Feige did confirm that Doctor Strange 2 connects to Spider-Man 3 (quot below), but worth a mention is that it was related to Doctor Strange 2 announcements from Marvel, as Sony looks to be in charge of making the call when to promote Spider-Man 3.
“Not only will Doctor Strange: In The Multiverse Of Madness connect directly to the events of WandaVision, but it will also connect to the events of our new Spider-Man film coming to theaters December 2021,” said Feige.
Perhaps this Christmas there will be an official announcement from Marvel or Sony what if anything this all means. When we know something more concrete we will let you know.
