The Suicide Squad James Gunn Cast

James Gunn is looking to start production for The Suicide Squad in Atlanta in September 2019. We now know the projected cast from IMDb and some of the characters we will see in the movie. While James Gunn is writing and directing the film he has the help of John Ostrander, who created the modern version of the Suicide Squad comic and Amanda Waller.

The highly anticipated movie will feature Margot Robbie: as Harley Quinn, Joel Kinnaman: Rick Flag, Jai Courtney: Captain Boomerang, Viola Davis: Amanda Waller returning from the original film cast. Actors of note will be John Cena: as Peacemaker, David Dastmalchian: Polka-Dot Man, Steve Agee: King Shark, and Daniela Melchior: Ratcatcher.

Will Smith won’t be back as Deadshot due to scheduling conflicts, and it seemed that Idris Elba was set to replace him, but that all changed when it was announced that Elba was playing an entirely new character, not Deadshot.

Director of Thor: Ragnarok Taika Waititi is listed as appearing in the movie. Sean Gunn and Michael Rooker from Guardians of the Galaxy, Nathan Fillion from the Firefly series, Brazilian actress Alice Braga, and Peter Capaldi from the Doctor Who British TV series are all listed as cast members.

Before listing the cast on twitter James Gunn twitted “Don’t get too attached” hinting that not all of the star-studded cast characters will survive the film.

On January 30, 2019, Warner Bros finally confirmed that the movie will be released on August 6, 2021. According to Deadline.
