A “Supergirl” film is in the early stages at Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment, according to Deadline Hollywood. “22 Jump Street” writer Oren Uziel will pen the script, but no producer is attached yet.
Oren Uziel is a writer and producer, also known for The Cloverfield Paradox (2018), and Shimmer Lake (2017).
Supergirl’s first appearance was in “Action Comics #252” from writer Otto Binder and illustrator Al Plastino. It followed Kara Zor-El, who was born and raised in Argo City – a fragment of KRYPTON that survived destruction.
As interesting as this sounds it simply means that Warner Bros. wants to see a good script for a possible future movie for Supergirl. With no producer or director, it is in the very early stages of development and will not be seen very soon. I would not get excited about Supergirl as an upcoming project just yet.
